I am a filmmaker whose storytelling begins in the mysteries of character. A poet who often features dialogue in her poems. More recently I have written a memoir, In the Time of the Manaroans (VUP) shortlisted for a NSW Premier’s Literary Award in 2021, and published a long-read essay, Five Ways, in Sydney Review of Books.

There's a back and forth in my work across forms.

I have won international and Australian awards for my films and, in 2016, graduated with a Creative Doctorate of Arts in Screen Studies and Screenwriting from Western Sydney University. For over a decade I have taught screenwriting and directing part time at the Academy of Film Theatre and Television and, more recently, at Macquarie University, Sydney.

With almost three decades experience in cinema and writing across media, I develop, write, script edit or consult on creative concepts, treatments and screenplays, film press books and synopses. In my capacity as script reader and assessor I have consulted on well over a thousand scripts for Screen Australia, Screen NSW, Screen Tasmania, SBS Independent and numerous independent filmmakers.

My approach is detailed, imaginative and sensitive to the distinctive voice of each project and creative. Send me an email and introduce yourself. I accept commissions as script consultant, filmmaker, poet, or as a marketing writer.
